This is a new still under construction residence where the owner desired to create a home with a contemporary design aesthetic on a narrow elongated lot on Kiawah Island overlooking the marsh, the Ocean Course Golf course and then finally the Atlantic Ocean. The resulting design is very organic in nature making the use of curves with the building massing wrapping the site and divided into three distinct masses connected by floor to ceiling glazed transitional passageway spaces. The home’s more private side, with minimal glazing punctuation, faces the street while the rear and more public side faces the golf course and the ocean beyond. Here large expanses of glazing were used to take advantage of the views and to bring lots of natural light into the interior living spaces.
